Instructions to INSTALL Update

1) Backup your system using the Backup/Restore option from the Main Menu of ChurchKeeper. It is found on the System pulldown of the Main Menu.

2) Exit all applications except this active page.

3) Click on the APPLY UPDATE link below. A prompt will appear that asks to download 'update.exe'.

4) Click on OPEN or RUN control to download and open update.exe (Dial up users should allow approx. 15 minutes for the download).

5) The WinZip Self Extractor Program will be activated on your desktop. Click On Unzip. *** Note *** if you have changed the location of ChurchKeeper from c:\chmanpro, change the Unzip to folder to the location for your installation, and make sure the 'Overwrite files without prompting' option is clicked on.

6) After the files have been successfully installed, close the WinZip program, and close the Internet Explorer. This takes you back to your desktop.

7) Launch ChurchKeeper. You will be prompted to rebuild the indices. Click on REBUILD.

How to check and see if you need to apply a build? Launch ChurchKeeper on your computer and go the Main Menu. Pull down the Help Menu, and click on ABOUT CHURCHKEEPER. When the build number is displayed compare this number to the number on our web site. If they are different, then apply this update.

Apply Update **** You will be prompted for a username and password *** The Username is UPDATE and the Password is UPDATE (BOTH ARE ALL CAPS).
